A good path.
No particular hurry.
European travels, walking holidays, the English countryside, and a National Trust day out. Preferably with a café somewhere along the way.
TRAVEL · WALKING · COUNTRYSIDEHELLO. HALLO. HOWZIT.
Head in the clouds.
Feet on a country path.
Solutions architect. Curious by nature.
Husband, dad, and a fan of taking the scenic route.

Dutch-born. South African-raised.
Now enjoying the British chapter.
I’ve carried a little of each place with me: Dutch roots, a South African upbringing, and a growing appreciation for the English countryside. These days, life is a mix of technology, family, faith, and finding somewhere lovely to explore.
THE DAY JOB02 — MAKING CONNECTIONS
Senior Specialist Solutions Architect
Amazon Connect Customer, Applied AI Services, AWS
Almost a decade at AWS, and still finding plenty to be curious about. My work brings together customer experience, cloud architecture and applied AI — helping turn technical possibilities into something useful.
I enjoy understanding how things work, asking good questions, and making complicated ideas a little clearer. The gadgets at home suggest that curiosity doesn’t clock off at five.
The professional version, on LinkedIn ↗A personal website, not an official AWS publication.
03 — BEYOND THE DAY JOB
Although, to be fair,
quite a few of my favourite things have one.
European travels, walking holidays, the English countryside, and a National Trust day out. Preferably with a café somewhere along the way.
TRAVEL · WALKING · COUNTRYSIDEFormula 1 weekends and cheering on McLaren. An entirely reasonable emotional investment in cars going very quickly in circles.
FORMULA 1 · TEAM McLARENConsumer electronics, clever gadgets, and the possibilities of AI. I’m drawn to things that make everyday life better — and occasionally things that are simply too interesting not to try.
GADGETS · AI · IDEASThere’s something lovely about stepping away from a screen and sitting down at the piano. Different keys. A different way to unwind.
PIANO · MUSIC · A CHANGE OF PACE04 — WHAT KEEPS ME GROUNDED
A Christian, a husband, and a dad.
The best parts of life aren’t on a spec sheet.
My faith in Jesus shapes how I try to live: with gratitude, integrity, and a little perspective. Family life keeps the days full — and reminds me that the everyday moments are often the ones that matter most.
Two churches that have been part of my story.
A passage I come back to — Romans 8:38–39 ↗05 — UNTIL NEXT TIME
Het komt
allemaal goed.
“It’ll all be alright.”
A little Dutch perspective to take with you.
